Job summary

Mitie Group plc invites proactive security professionals to join our nationwide Security Guard teams supporting the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The role covers multiple London-region sites and requires a full UK driving licence.

You will patrol, control access, respond to incidents, liaise with emergency services, and deliver excellent customer service while adhering to Mitie and DWP policies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.

Job Overview

• Flexibility to travel, as this role will cover various DWP sites within the London region (Westminster, Staines, Twickenham, Hounslow, Uxbridge, Hayes, Acton, Shepherd Bush, Fulham, Neasden, North Kensington, Harlesden, Harrow, Watford, St Albans, Borehamwood, Hemel Hampstead)
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
