Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking a Security Officer on a relief basis for a NHS contract in the West Midlands. You will be the approachable, calm, and professional face helping to ensure the safety of staff, patients, and the public.

We value enthusiasm, reliability and a proactive attitude. Training is provided, and there are opportunities to develop within a supportive team focused on high standards of service.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.
• Friendly, approachable and professional in all interactions.
• Enthusiasm to learn and adapt in a security role.
• Experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous.
• Door Supervision or Close Protection licences are preferred.
• CCTV licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers, patients, and staff as a first point of contact.
• Ensure safety and security of colleagues and customers.
• Be a smart, proactive security representative on site.
• Respond to incidents calmly and effectively, managing difficult situations.

Previous experience in security is great, but if you’ve only recently got your SIA licence that’s fine. What’s just as important is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We will provide all the training and support you need to succeed. Our goal is to help you to become a valued member of the Carlisle team.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include

• Offering guidance, information, and a friendly face as a first point of contact for customers including members of the public, patients and staff.
• Ensuring the safety and security of colleagues and customers, providing a sense of assurance.
• Being a smart, approachable, and proactive presence as a security representative.
• Managing and responding to incidents including challenging situations effectively while remaining calm under pressure.
• Building strong relationships as part of a supportive and professional team.
• Escorting patients and ensuring their safety.
• Locating and assisting with missing patients.
• Responding to fire, intruder, and panic alarms.
• Providing security escorts and managing traffic flow.
• Conducting car park checks and maintaining equipment.
• Handling and delivering cash securely.
• Performing driving duties as required.
