Job summary

Securitas is seeking a Relief Security Officer to cover sites around Bristol. The role requires vigilant protection of people and property, with shifts that include days, nights and weekends. A valid SIA licence, driving licence and a strong customer-service focus are essential.

You will join a global security team known for Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness. Responsibilities include patrols, access control, incident reporting and executing emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence required.
• UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
• Experience in corporate security is advantageous.

As a Relief Security Officer, you will provide security services across a variety of sites within a designated geographical area as required. The Relief Security Officer will be responsible for protecting employees, property, and assets in line with Assignment Instructions and site-specific customer requirements, while delivering exceptional customer service. The Relief Security Officer will consistently demonstrate Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness and must hold a valid SIA licence before commencing operational duties.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Welcoming and assisting staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Conducting regular safety and security patrols.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations and searches.
• Keeping vigilant, reporting incidents, and preventing disruption.
• Accurately maintaining records of all activity and handovers.
• Provide a visible security presence across the site
• Conduct regular foot patrols
• Monitor CCTV systems and security alarms
• Manage access control and visitor sign-in procedures
• Respond to incidents and emergencies professionally
• Complete accurate incident and shift reports
• Assist employees, contractors, and visitors
• Ensure all health, safety, and security procedures are followed at all times

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
• Previous corporate security experience preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearance
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
