Job summary

Wilson James is inviting applications for a Relief Security Officer in Milton Keynes. This part-time position involves monitoring premises, patrols, incident response and reporting, supporting security procedures, and assisting in emergencies.

You will join a relief team across client sites, maintaining safety and professional standards. The role requires a current DS SIA Licence, proven security experience, and strong observation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft or vandalism.
• Monitor access points and CCTV, and follow security procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and incidents.
• Complete detailed reports of daily activities and concerns.
• Assist in evacuations and first aid if required.
• Adapt to different client sites and work as part of a team.

About the Role:

• Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites - no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team

What we are looking for:

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high‑pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
