Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking passionate security guards to join our team for a new DWP project across sites in Hertfordshire, including Hertford, Stevenage, Hatfield, St Albans, Watford and Waltham Cross.

A full UK driving licence is required; flexibility to travel between sites is essential. You will patrol, respond to incidents, liaise with police and emergency services, and ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Job Overview

Flexibility to travel, as this role will cover various DWP sites within the region of Hertfordshire including Hertford, Stevenage, Hatfield, St Albans, Watford and Waltham Cross

• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.

• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
