Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking Relief General Kitchen Assistants to support school catering across the borough. Work is casual, term-time only, with hours typically around lunchtime and flexible scheduling.

You will assist with meal prep, maintain hygiene, and help keep kitchens clean while delivering reliable service to pupils. Training is provided, and uniforms are supplied; opportunities to work at multiple school locations.

Qualifications

• Casual, variable hours (term time only).
• Willing to complete Level 2 Food Safety Certificate if not held.
• Willing to work across multiple school kitchens in the borough.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Clean kitchen areas, equipment and food preparation rooms.
• Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the school kitchen.
