Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a General Kitchen Assistant for Clifton Community School in the Rotherham area. This permanent, term-time only position offers 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday during lunchtime, at £13.45 per hour.

You will join our busy school catering team, assisting with meal preparation and service, maintaining hygiene standards and a clean dining environment while supporting pupils and staff. Training will be provided, and a provided uniform is supplied.

Qualifications

• Permanent, term-time only employment.
• Part-time role: 10 hours per week.
• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate desirable; training offered.
• Experience in kitchen/catering teamwork preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Support the delivery of an efficient catering service.
• Maintain food hygiene and safety standards.
• Clean food preparation areas and kitchens to required standards.
