Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is recruiting Relief Retail Security officers to support Tesco locations across the Crewe area. You will cover holidays and sickness, with flexible hours and shifts from early morning to late evening, and full induction and ongoing training provided.

Ideal candidates will hold an SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence, be 18+, reliable, punctual and professional, and capable of working as part of a team to deter crime and ensure safety for colleagues and customers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older due to front-line licensable activity.
• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence required.
• 5 years of checkable work and address history.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and smart in appearance.
• Friendly, approachable and professional at all times.
• Enthusiastic and motivated to perform well.
• Some security or customer-facing experience is preferred.
• Able to interact positively with clients and customers.
• Must provide original documents for screening (passport, driving licence, utility bill, HMRC letter, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Ensure colleague safety and provide reassurance for all.
• Provide a smart, visible, proactive security presence and deterrent.
• Effectively manage conflicts and incidents and take control as needed.
• Control access and egress; conduct security patrols to deter crime.
• Engage with the public in a proactive and professional manner.
• Be aware of hazards and incidents and respond appropriately.
• Provide guidance and direct customers as a first point of contact.
• Follow safety and security processes and procedures.
• Work as part of a team and build strong working relationships.
