Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is recruiting a Retail Security Officer to protect customers and staff on the shop floor with professionalism and calm vigilance. The role offers flexible shifts discussed at interview, enabling a pattern around your life while building a career within Mitie.

You will help deter theft, maintain safety, and deliver excellent service, while using CCTV and coordinating with store management and local authorities. A paid lunch break is provided as part of the package.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deter theft and anti-social behaviour and manage store patrols.
• Operate CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Work closely with store management teams.
• Support partnerships with Police and local crime networks.
• Utilise Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety onsite.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences
• Carrying out regular store patrols
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss
• Working closely with store management teams
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite

What You'll Need

• A valid SIA licence (or willingness to complete the training – we may be able to support you with this)
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (this is essential for vetting)
• A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach
