Job summary

McCarthy & Stone Ltd in Glasgow is recruiting a Relief Care Supervisor to join Hilltree Court. The role covers day and sleeping night shifts, with hourly rates of £15.75 for day shifts and £12.24 for nights, plus £1 extra per hour from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight.

Shifts are on an as-and-when basis, with days typically 08:45–16:30 or 16:15–09:30, and nights 21:30–09:00. Emergency sleep coverage is provided for homeowners.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a care or support environment.
• QCF Health and Social Care Level 3 preferred (or equivalent).
• Willingness to cover flexible shifts and on-call emergency support.

Responsibilities

• Support the management and smooth running of the Hilltree Court community.
• Oversee Care and Support teams and ensure homeowners safety and wellbeing.
• Coordinate activities to strengthen community spirit within the development.
• Lead by example and develop skills in the team.

Job Introduction

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a professional Relief Care Supervisor to join our team at our prestigious Hilltree Court developmentin Glasgow

Hourly rate: £15.75 per hour day shifts and £12.24 per hour SLEEPING night shifts. Plus earn an additional £1 per hour for every hour worked from midnight Friday, to midnight Sunday.

Hours: To cover shifts on an 'as and when' basis when required, to be discussed with the development Manager.

Our day shifts vary between 08:45 and 16:30 or between 16:15 to 09:30.

Our night shifts are from 21:30 to 09:00am

Our Relief Care Supervisors sleepbetween 23:00pm and 07:00am providing emergency support only to our homeowners throughout that period.

About you:

• You will live within easy commuting distance of our estate.
• You will be a warm, friendly, organised, and self-motivated individual with experience of working in a care or support environment and excellent care skills.
• You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 3 qualification, although consideration will be given to a candidate with alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
• Keen to take on the responsibility of managing the security of the development, looking after the safety and wellbeing of the homeowners, and overseeing the Care and Support teams.
• Able to co-ordinate and facilitate activities that help strengthen the community spirit within the development.
• Driven to continue to grow their skills and will want to lead by example and think on their feet.
• Able to make a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people.
