Job summary

Anchor Group Services is seeking a Relief Cleaning Operative for Wellington House in Barnsley. The role requires cleaning designated areas to a high standard, with duties including waste disposal, spill response, and adherence to H&S and COSHH regulations.

The position is relief-based on a zero-hour contract with shifts starting as early as 5:00am. Flexibility to cover annual leave, sickness, and other operational needs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide superb customer service to on-site clients and customers
• Carry out any other reasonable management requests

Location: Wellington House - Wellington Street, Barnsley, S70 1WA

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced cleaner to join the site cleaning team at Wellington House (Barnsley) as a Relief Cleaning Operative.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out a range of cleaning tasks, safely and professionally, to a high standard. You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, have the ability to communicate on all levels and possess a proactive and positive attitude.

This is a relief position on a zero-hour contract to provide site cover, therefore, the successful candidate must be flexible and available to cover annual leave, sickness absence, and other operational needs as required.

Shift times start from 5:00am, so you must be able to reliably commute to S70 1WA for as early as 5:00am.

Duties include:

• Cleaning of designated areas, ensuring the agreed cleaning specification is completed, as per the site instructions
  
• Emptying of bins, ensuring recycled waste is disposed of correctly
  
• Attending to spillages by making sure they are cleaned up, within an efficient timeframe, to prevent accidents and ensure site and staff safety
  
• Following H&S and COSHH regulations
  
• Use of site-specific equipment, machinery and handling chemicals
  
• Proactive interaction with on-site clients and customers, offering superb customer service
  
• Use of site-specific equipment, machinery and handling chemicals
  
• Carrying out any other reasonable management requests
