Job summary

BaxterStorey is hiring a Relief chef in Swindon across multiple sites. You will prepare and cook dishes to the standards set by the head/sous chef, manage your station, and ensure food safety and quality at all times.

The role supports a Monday–Friday, 40-hour schedule with holiday entitlement and a range of family, training and wellbeing benefits. You will work with a collaborative team and contribute to menu development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as sous chef or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and cooking to recipes and standards while maintaining safety.
• Station management and keeping your designated area stocked and clean.
• Quality control for presentation and taste of all dishes.
• Collaborate with head chef and assist teammates as needed.
• Assist in menu development with head chef and testers.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
