Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Relief Chef Manager in Northamptonshire and Midlands to cover holidays and sickness across sites. Usual hours are 07:00–15:00, with occasional evenings and weekends, and travel between locations is expected.

You will lead menus, manage a kitchen team, and ensure cost control while maintaining high standards. You will develop and innovate menus, ensure health and safety compliance, and support client events with strong collaboration with operations teams.

• Knowledge of food cost management and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Menu Planning and Execution – design menus and oversee food prep and presentation.
• Employee Management – recruit, train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Inventory and Cost Control – monitor stock and control costs.
• Customer Relations – engage with customers to meet catering needs.
• Health and Safety Compliance – ensure food safety and regulatory adherence.
• Budget and Financial Management – manage kitchen budgets and cost savings.
• Menu Development and Innovation – stay updated on trends and refresh menus.
• Compliance and Documentation – keep accurate records and comply with regulations.
