Job summary

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a professional Relief Care Supervisor to join our team at the Thomas Court development in NewPen-y-lan, Cardiff. You will support the management and smooth running of a thriving community of active and independent older people in elegant private apartments.

Hours vary; day shifts typically 08:45–16:30 or 16:15–09:30, with night shifts 21:30–09:00. Sleep period 23:00–07:00 for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or support environment with excellent care skills.
• Preferably hold QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 3.
• Live within easy commuting distance of the estate.

Responsibilities

• Manage the security and safety of homeowners.
• Oversee Care and Support teams and daily operations.
• Coordinate and facilitate community activities within the development.

Job Introduction

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a professional Relief Care Supervisor to join ourteam at ourprestigious Thomas Court developmentin NewPen-y-lan, Cardiff.

Hourly rate: £15.24per hour day shiftsand £12.24 per hourSLEEPINGnight shifts. Plus earn an additional £1 per hour for every hour worked from midnight Friday, to midnight Sunday.

Hours: To cover shifts on an 'as and when' basis when required, to be discussed with the development Manager.

Our day shifts vary between 08:45 and 16:30 or between 16:15 to 09:30.

Our night shifts are from 21:30 to 09:00am

Our Relief Care Supervisors sleep between 23:00pm and 07:00am providing emergency support only to our homeowners throughout that period.

About you:

• You will live within easy commuting distance of our estate.
• You will be a warm, friendly, organised, and self-motivated individual with experience of working in a care or support environment and excellent care skills.
• You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 3 qualification although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
• Keen to take on the responsibility of managing the security of the development, looking after the safety and wellbeing of the homeowners, and overseeing the Care and Support teams.
• Able to co-ordinate and facilitate activities that help strengthen the community spirit within the development.
• Driven to continue to grow their skills and will want to lead by example and think on their feet.
• Able to make a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people.
