Job summary

Presbyterian Church in Ireland through Corkey House is seeking Relief Care Assistants to provide compassionate care for older residents. No prior experience required as full training is provided, with opportunities to gain NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care and support for career development.

Laid out within the older people services, Corkey House hosts 35 residents with varied needs, and staff work to maintain dignity, safety, and community values in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Willing to undertake induction training, or NVQ/QCF level 2.
• Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English.
• Willing to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
• Respect for the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate care to residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
• Assisting residents with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activities
• Encouraging independence while offering support where needed
• Administering medication (after appropriate training)
• Supporting residents with social and recreational activities
• Helping residents exercise their rights and make choices about their daily lives
• Accompanying residents on trips, appointments, and outings
• Maintaining accurate records (both written and computerised)
• Following safety procedures and NISCC Code of Practice standards
• Attending training and staff meetings to develop your skills
• Being a team player, working alongside staff to provide the best possible care
