Job summary

Corkey House in Belfast, part of the Council for Social Witness (Older People Services), is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join a compassionate team. You’ll deliver personal care within a Christian ethos, support daily activities, and help lead care planning under the Service Manager.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring safety, administering medications, and coordinating spiritual programs. Flexible rota and weekend work are expected.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF level 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards within two years.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience caring for older people, people with disabilities or mental health needs.
• Willingness to obtain competency in administering medications within 4 weeks of start date.
• Registration on the Northern Ireland Social Care Council and compliance with policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and implement resident care programs and monitor progress.
• Provide personal care, maintain dignity and privacy, and encourage activity.
• Administer medications and supervise daily activities and records.
• Lead handovers, support training, and ensure quality assurance compliance.
• Lead daily devotions and coordinate spiritual activities with local clergy.
