Our Homelessness Services work to break the cycle of homelessness through a range of tailored support to individuals and families — including Lifehouses, NAP pads, Housing First, practical support to rough sleepers, floating support and outreach services, and addiction services.

We are looking for a Relief Assistant Support Worker to join our teams across our London Lifehouses (Cambria Lifehouse - WC1N 1BJ, Founders House Lifehouse - E1 5NG, Southwark Young People Service - SE5 8DF, St Ann's - SW1 2DE, No.10 Day Centre - W1B 2LH, and Malachi Place - IG1 1EQ).

We seek individuals who are PIE informed and highly motivated. You will work with The Programme Team to provide activities that empower individuals to move on to independent living and support the successful operation of the Centre.

To be successful in this role, you will have…

  • Motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience working in a busy environment and/or delivering excellent customer service.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • The ability to understand and implement processes and procedures related to your area of work.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to meet objectives.
  • Experience working successfully in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • The ability and willingness to work within, be empathetic with, and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army.
