Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a maintenance technician to cover a three-shift pattern (24/5) with overtime. The role emphasizes fault finding in a manufacturing setting and a strong, proactive maintenance mindset.

The candidate should be adept at AC/DC motors, reading pneumatic/electrical schematics, and applying DMAIC techniques to root-cause issues. The position offers ongoing training opportunities, a supportive team environment, and a commitment to health, safety, and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering Qualification gained through an apprenticeship / practical learning course.
• Relevant experience ideally in a production manufacturing environment including fault finding and electrical repairs for industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate on an eight-hour x three shift basis (24hr/5 days) with holiday cover and overtime availability.
• Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of AC/DC motors and drives and read electrical/pneumatic schematic drawings; maintain mechanical understanding of core systems.
• Apply DMAIC problem-solving techniques to identify root causes of issues and implement robust maintenance improvements.

Job description

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and have a right first-time approach to maintenance tasks, including using DMAIC problem solving techniques to identify the root cause of an issue.
