Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a maintenance engineer to join its manufacturing team. The role operates on an eight-hour shift pattern (24hr/5 days) with holiday cover and occasional overtime. A right-first-time mindset and strong fault-finding skills with AC/DC motors, drives, and schematic interpretation are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent via an apprenticeship or practical course.
• Experience in production/manufacturing environments with fault finding and electrical repairs on industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Use DMAIC problem solving to identify root causes of issues.
• Read electrical and pneumatic schematics and have a mechanical understanding of drives and motors.

The Role

The role will operate on an eight-hour x three shift basis (24hr/5 days) with an element of holiday cover and overtime availability.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and have a right first-time approach to maintenance tasks, including using DMAIC problem solving techniques to identify the root cause of an issue.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of AC / DC motors and drives, read electrical / pneumatic schematic drawings and have a mechanical understanding of core

Qualifications Skills And Experience

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering Qualification gained through an apprenticeship / practical learning course
• Relevant experience ideally in a production manufacturing environment including fault finding and electrical repairs for industrial equipment.
