Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a maintenance engineer to join our production team on a 24hr/5 days pattern with 8-hour shifts.

The ideal candidate has a Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification via apprenticeship and hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, drives, and electrical/pneumatic schematics. You should demonstrate a right-first-time approach and be prepared for holiday cover and overtime. We value safety, development, and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification via apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in a production/manufacturing setting with fault finding and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks with a right‑first‑time approach using DMAIC problem solving.
• Read electrical/pneumatic schematics and work with AC/DC motors and drives.
• Support shift coverage, including holiday cover and overtime as needed.

The Role

The role will operate on an eight-hour x three shift basis (24hr/5 days) with an element of holiday cover and overtime availability.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and have a right first-time approach to maintenance tasks, including using DMAIC problem solving techniques to identify the root cause of an issue.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of AC / DC motors and drives, read electrical / pneumatic schematic drawings and have a mechanical understanding of core

Qualifications Skills and Experience

• Level 3 Electrical Engineering Qualification gained through an apprenticeship / practical learning course


• Relevant experience ideally in a production manufacturing environment including fault finding and electrical repairs for industrial equipment.
