Job summary

Reliability Engineering Manager needed at Uttoxeter for a leading food manufacturer. You will own reliability and maintenance strategies site-wide, using data-driven insights to cut downtime and drive continuous improvement.

Lead a team of technicians and planners while shaping long-term engineering strategy. Ideal candidates have proven leadership in manufacturing, strong reliability experience, Lean/CI knowledge, and appropriate HNC/HND or higher qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic reliability and asset improvement projects.

• Analyse performance data to identify trends and drive engineering improvements.
• Champion Continuous Improvement methodologies including TPM, Kaizen and 5S.
• Support succession planning and capability development within the engineering team.
• Foster a culture focused on reliability, accountability, and operational excellence.

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a passion for reliability, continuous improvement, and driving operational excellence?

We are recruiting for a Reliability Engineering Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business at their busy Uttoxeter site. This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to shape long-term engineering strategy, improve plant reliability, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Reliability Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of reliability and maintenance strategies across the site, using data-driven insights to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and deliver sustainable continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic reliability and asset improvement projects
• Develop and implement site-wide maintenance and reliability strategies
• Manage and develop a team of Engineering Technicians and Maintenance Planning personnel
• Analyse performance data to identify trends and drive engineering improvements
• Champion Continuous Improvement methodologies including TPM, Kaizen and 5S
• Support succession planning and capability development within the engineering team

About You

You will be an experienced engineering professional with:

• A proven background in engineering leadership within manufacturing
• Strong experience in reliability engineering and maintenance planning
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
• A data-led approach to decision making and problem solving
• NVQ Level 3 (Mechanical or Electrical), HNC/HND or higher qualification
• IOSH awareness (desirable)
