Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a Release & Deployment Manager to shape how we deliver change across our engineering teams. You’ll oversee releases across platforms, driving automation and safer, faster delivery while managing risks and environments.

You will lead a small team and collaborate with Platform Owners, DevSecOps, QA, and Environments teams to evolve release practices for stability and compliance, with hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading release or deployment programs in complex tech setups.
• Strong grasp of modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, DevOps).
• Experience coordinating releases across multiple teams and dependencies at scale.
• Ability to use data and metrics to improve delivery performance and reduce risk.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication across engineering, ops, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve release and deployment strategies for multi-platform delivery.
• Lead cross-team release planning and coordination with visibility of dependencies and risks.
• Drive automation, policy-as-code and progressive delivery (canary, blue/green).
• Use metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve delivery performance.
• Lead and grow a small team, fostering continuous improvement and shared ownership.
