Job summary

HSBC in the United Kingdom is seeking a Relationship Director to manage a portfolio of domestic and international clients with a turnover between £15M and £350M. You will act as a trusted adviser, balancing client needs with risk considerations while delivering excellent service and building strategic partnerships across the bank.

This hybrid role is based in the South West/Wales region, with regular client visits and a mix of home and office time.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Corporate Banking/Business Banking/Financial Services roles.
  • Experience with Commercial Banking products is essential.
  • Credit and lending experience is essential.
  • Understanding of risk management and regulatory processes would be advantageous.
  • Self-driven with ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience growing opportunities with existing and new-to-bank clients.

  • Support customers and place their needs at the forefront, setting world-class standards.

The role of the Relationship Director is a full relationship management role to engage with our existing and prospective customers to help them realise their ambitions. Your key aim will be to operate as a person of influence to our customers with a turnover of between £15M and £350M, where you will also be responsible for customer service excellence to our existing and prospective customers.

Customer portfolios will consist of both domestic and international relationships and will involve managing all aspects of the relationship including operational and credit risk. To be successful in this role you will create and maintain strong and evolving partnerships internally and externally.

In This Role You’ll

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Experience working in a relevant role within Corporate Banking/Business Banking/Financial Services is essential
  • Experience and knowledge of Commercial Banking products is essential
  • Credit and lending experience is essential
  • Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer’s needs and managing complex lending requests is essential
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes would be advantageous
  • Be self-driven, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work collaboratively to deliver to deadlines is essential
  • Experience in developing opportunities for growth with existing and new to Bank clients is essential

This is a hybrid position with the base location being either Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter. Clients are based across the South West and Wales, and there is an expectation of the working week consisting of home and office-based working, along with visiting clients on a regular basis. It is therefore important that you are based within an easy commutable distance.
