Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Relationship Director in the UK to manage a portfolio of domestic and international clients, with a turnover range of £15M to £350M. You will drive credit solutions, risk management and customer satisfaction across a hybrid London–South West footprint, visiting clients regularly and collaborating with product partners.

The role demands strong corporate banking experience, a track record in lending, and the ability to build enduring client relationships while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience in Corporate Banking/Business Banking/Financial Services is essential.
• Experience and knowledge of Commercial Banking products is essential.
• Credit and lending experience is essential.
• Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer’s needs and managing complex lending requests is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance would be advantageous.
• Be self-driven, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work collaboratively to deliver to deadlines is essential.

The role of the Relationship Director is a full relationship management role to engage with our existing and prospective customers to help them realise their ambitions. Your key aim will be to operate as a person of influence to our customers with a turnover of between £15M and £350M, where you will also be responsible for customer service excellence to our existing and prospective customers.

Customer portfolios will consist of both domestic and international relationships and will involve managing all aspects of the relationship including operational and credit risk. To be successful in this role you will create and maintain strong and evolving partnerships internally and externally.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Experience working in a relevant role within Corporate Banking/Business Banking/Financial Services is essential
• Experience and knowledge of Commercial Banking products is essential
• Credit and lending experience is essential
• Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer’s needs and managing complex lending requests is essential
• A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes would be advantageous
• Be self-driven, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work collaboratively to deliver to deadlines is essential
• Experience in developing opportunities for growth with existing and new to Bank clients is essential

This is a hybrid position with the base location being either Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter. Clients are based across the South West and Wales, and there is an expectation of the working week consisting of home and office-based working, along with visiting clients on a regular basis. It is therefore important that you are based within an easy commutable distance.
