Job summary

Social Interest Group (SIG) in Havering is seeking a Support Coach for Criminal Justice Services on day shifts with a rolling rota. You will support residents recently released from prison in a residential setting, creating tailored support plans and fostering life skills to aid reintegration.

You will work to protect the public, manage risk, and drive KPI-focused outcomes within a supportive team. The role offers a structured development path and varied daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people with complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health or substance misuse.
• Ability to manage own caseload and priorities with good time management.
• Proactive, resilient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• IT proficiency and willingness to learn new software.
• Understanding of social care, housing, criminal justice and mental health legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times.
• Engage with residents and plan activities to promote engagement with community.
• Complete handovers for night colleagues to ensure seamless service.
• Build trusting professional relationships and support residents to achieve goals.
• Empower residents to take control of their lives and meet personal goals.
