Job summary

Metro Bank is seeking an experienced regulatory reporting professional to deliver COREP, FINREP and Bank of England returns with precision and timeliness. You will strengthen control environments, drive process improvements, and collaborate with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations and IT to implement reporting changes.

The role demands hands-on experience in producing FINREP and COREP, combined with strong data governance and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of UK regulatory landscape and PRA Basel requirements.
• Able to interpret regulatory reports and explain movements to senior management.

Job description

• Deliver accurate and timely COREP, FINREP and Bank of England regulatory returns, covering liquidity, credit risk, asset encumbrance, leverage, large exposures, LCR, NSFR and ALMM
• Maintain a robust regulatory reporting control environment, strengthening reconciliations, sign-off procedures, documentation, control testing and remediation
• Drive efficiencies and automation across regulatory reporting, including integrating new returns and enhancing third-party reporting solutions
• Improve regulatory data quality and governance, working with stakeholders to enhance data completeness, accuracy and reporting capability
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PRA, Basel and wider regulatory requirements, assessing reporting impacts and supporting the management and escalation of regulatory reporting risks
• Partner with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations and IT to deliver regulatory reporting change, including regulatory reforms, system upgrades and process improvements
• Support internal and external audits, preparing appropriate evidence and responding to queries, while sharing knowledge and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
• Demonstratable experience in a regulatory reporting role within financial services, with hands‑on experience producing FINREP, COREP and Liquidity returns
• Excellent knowledge of the UK regulatory landscape and the requirements governing regulatory reporting
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory reports, identify movements and clearly explain findings to senior management
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate regulatory returns to strict reporting deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across Finance, wider teams and with regulators
• Proven people management skills, with experience leading and developing direct reports while contributing effectively as part of a Finance team
• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent
