We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Performance Analyst to join the Developer Services team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

What we do:

Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Here in Yorkshire, we make sure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year, can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. But for us, it's so much more than this.

We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire's water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region's health, wellbeing, and prosperity.

New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry. Developer Services are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

To own the production and control of regulatory reporting outputs for Developer Services, ensuring submissions are accurate, timely and supported by robust analysis. The role has a clear split from operational reporting and is focused on regulated outputs such as D-MeX, WUK, APR support and related compliance reporting. It provides the analytical backbone for regulatory performance, ensuring trends, risks and forecast positions are understood and communicated clearly.

Where you fit in:

As our Regulatory Performance Analyst you will

  • Produce and maintain D-MeX reporting, including data collation, validation, calculation support, trend analysis and performance insight to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
  • Deliver WUK report processing and monthly regulatory reporting activities in line with required standards, governance processes and submission deadlines.
  • Support APR reporting and wider annual regulatory assurance activities through the preparation, analysis and validation of robust data sets and supporting evidence.
  • Monitor regulatory performance through trend analysis and forecasting, identifying emerging risks, deteriorating performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure regulatory data is effectively controlled, reconciled and supported by clear audit trails, maintaining the integrity and reliability of all submissions.
  • Work closely with the Compliance & Assurance Manager to support audit readiness, governance reviews and internal and external assurance activities.
  • Provide regulatory insight and reporting expertise to operational and strategic stakeholders, helping translate complex data into meaningful actions and business decisions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Developer Services regulatory reporting, ensuring submissions are accurate, well-evidenced and recognised as a trusted source of regulatory performance information.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
  • Experience in analytical, reporting, compliance or assurance-based roles, with responsibility for managing and interpreting performance data.
  • Good understanding of regulated reporting environments and regulatory performance measures, with knowledge of D-MeX, WUK and APR reporting requirements.
  • Strong data handling, validation and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong control mindset, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and robust evidence trails.
  • Ability to translate complex technical data and reporting outcomes into clear, meaningful insights for operational and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with an evidence-based approach to decision-making and regulatory assurance.

Although we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it's important to us that we support flexible working patterns and job share options (when we can), to help you make the best of both your work and home life. We know that juggling childcare responsibilities or getting that ideal work/life balance isn't always easy!

Do we sound like your cup of tea?
