Job summary

Major, Lindsey & Africa is seeking an Interim Regulatory Legal Counsel for a 12-month contract in London, hybrid working. The role focuses on regulatory matters around stablecoins, digital assets, and cross-border payments, guiding product development and market launches across Europe and beyond.

The candidate will lead multi-jurisdictional regulatory analyses, coordinate with external counsel, and partner with product, business and legal teams to ensure regulatory readiness for new payment

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with regulatory experience in payments.
• Experience advising on MiCA, PSD2 and cross-border products.
• Commercial, business-focused regulatory advice with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Advising on regulatory aspects of stablecoin and fiat payment products.
• Providing strategic regulatory guidance on product design and settlement models.
• Supporting go-to-market regulatory readiness for new product launches.
• Leading multi-jurisdictional analyses across Europe and other markets.
• Assessing licensing, registration and regulatory requirements for payment services and digital assets.
• Coordinating external counsel where required.
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to navigate evolving regulatory developments.
