Job summary

Major, Lindsey & Africa is partnering with a global digital payments and fintech organisation to recruit an interim senior regulatory lawyer for its EMEA legal team. You will advise on complex UK and European financial services regulation and lead investigations while supporting enforcement responses.

The role involves shaping regulatory strategy, managing cross-border matters, and coordinating with regulators, industry bodies and internal teams across the EMEA region.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience advising on financial services regulation, payments law and/or competition law.
  • Proven ability to lead regulatory investigations and respond to enforcement matters.
  • Experience working across UK and European markets within a financial services or fintech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic regulatory advice on UK and European financial services and payments regulation.
  • Lead responses to regulatory investigations, information requests and enforcement matters.
  • Advise on competition/antitrust considerations in commercial partnerships.
  • Support regulatory policy initiatives and external engagement strategies.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, product, public policy and commercial teams across EMEA.
  • Manage cross-border matters and external counsel relationships.
