Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Regulatory Commitments Analyst to manage the live database of regulatory commitments, track milestones, and compile clear reports for internal stakeholders. You will gather evidence, support tracking meetings, and monitor compliance with Ofwat and environmental regulations.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive issue resolution to ensure commitments are met and customers are protected.

Qualifications

  • Data & analytical skills: Proficiency in managing databases, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and tracking tools, with a strong ability to analyse data trends.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tracking tasks and competing priorities.
  • Organisational skills to keep critical schedules on track.

Responsibilities

  • Database maintenance: Administer, update, and ensure accuracy of the live database of SEW regulatory commitments.
  • Milestone tracking: Monitor delivery timelines and flag potential slippages.
  • Data analysis & reporting: Analyse compliance data and compile performance documentation and dashboards.
  • Evidence collection: Gather, verify, and archive evidence showing commitments met.
  • Meeting support: Prepare performance data and document agreed actions for tracking meetings.
  • Regulatory awareness: Monitor compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks, including Ofwat and environmental legislation.

Job description

Summary: Are you a data-driven professional with an eye for detail and a passion for accountability? Do you have the the aptitude for tracking complex information and driving cross-business compliance? We are looking for a Regulatory Commitments Analyst to report directly to the Regulatory Commitments Lead. You will provide essential data management, tracking, and analytical support to ensure we consistently deliver on our regulatory promises. You will be the core administrator for our live SEW regulatory commitments database, serving as a key linchpin between operational teams and regulatory expectations. You will work closely with teams across the wider business to monitor progress against agreed timelines, track accountability outputs, and gather compliance evidence. Your diligent analysis and tracking will ensure that commitments are met to the satisfaction of our regulators and ultimately deliver the best outcomes for our customers.

Main responsibilities:
  • Database maintenance: Administer, update, and ensure the absolute accuracy of the comprehensive, live database of SEW regulatory commitments.
  • Milestone tracking: Monitor delivery timelines, accountability outputs, and milestones across various business areas, proactively flagging potential slippages to the Regulatory Commitments Lead.
  • Data analysis & reporting: Analyse compliance data and compile clear performance documentation, progress reports, and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Evidence collection: Coordinate with the wider business to gather, verify, and archive robust evidence demonstrating that regulatory commitments have been met satisfactorily.
  • Meeting support: Assist in driving internal tracking meetings by preparing performance data, updating milestones, and documenting agreed action points.
  • Regulatory awareness: Support the wider team in monitoring compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks, including Ofwat and environmental legislation.
You’ll need:
  • Data & analytical skills: Proficiency in managing databases, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and tracking tools, with a strong ability to analyse data trends.
  • Attention to detail: High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tracking tasks with competing priorities.
  • Organisational skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills to keep critical schedules on track.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present detailed tracking information clearly and concisely.
  • Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with data providers and stakeholders across the business.
  • Problem solving: A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset focused on data accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (preferably in utilities or water sectors) would be an advantage.

Compensation package:

up to £35K

It is necessary for you to have the legal right to work in the UK when you begin employment with South East Water. Additionally, as part of the employment offer, you will need to pass background, identity, and employment referencing checks.
