Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking a Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager to oversee a multi-channel fundraising programme, boosting regular gifts, mid-value donations and legacy gifts. You will manage two Regular Giving Officer roles and align supporter journeys across direct mail, phone, email and social media.

The role includes maternity cover up to 10 months starting December 2026, with opportunities to pilot new ideas and collaborate with the Alumni Engagement team and other university

Qualifications

  • Track record in direct-marketing fundraising in Higher Education or charity sector.
  • Proven line management experience and staff development.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaboration among stakeholders and teams.
  • Experience managing projects to budgets, targets and timescales.
  • Experience developing compelling and response-driven copy and creative.
  • Experience interrogating, analysing, manipulating and interpreting large, complex data sets for targeting and segmentation.

Responsibilities

Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager

We’re searching for a Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager to oversee a sector-leading, multi-channel appeal programme to increase numbers of gifts and donors to the University. Following the launch of Imperial’s bold and ambitious strategy we are preparing to launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign. The Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team will play a pivotal role in bringing about a step-change in regular, mid-value and legacy donations to the University.

The postholder will oversee and implement the overall strategy and supporter journey for alumni and donors primarily through direct mail, telephone, email and social media.

This is an exciting role with opportunities for the postholder to oversee an award-winning acquisition campaign, a brand-new mid-value programme and a successful legacy marketing programme. The post holder will be instrumental in building collaboration with the Alumni Engagement team to promote philanthropy and take alumni on a journey to their first gift.

What you would be doing

Working across the Regular Giving & Legacy Giving team and managing 2 Regular Giving Officer roles , you will oversee supporter journeys for donors, working on cases for support, appeal development and data segmentation. You will have the opportunity to pilot new ideas as well as delivering a mature and sector-leading programme. Working across Advancement, you will build relationships with key internal stakeholders especially the Alumni Engagement team, Major Gift, and Event teams to capitalise on opportunities to embed regular giving and legacy messaging in all University activities.

What we are looking for
  • A successful track record, in delivering direct-marketing fundraising in Higher Education or the charity sector
  • A proven track record of line management and professionally developing members of staff
  • The ability to build strong relationships and collaboration among key stakeholders and teams
  • A significant and demonstrable experience of managing and organising projects to agreed budgets, targets and timescales
  • A significant and demonstrable experience of developing and evaluating compelling and response driven copy and creative
  • A significant and demonstrable experience of interrogating, analysing, manipulating and interpreting large, complex data sets for targeting and segmentation purposes
  • Experience of liaising with and managing a variety of internal stakeholders and obtaining buy in and support for projects
  • Experience of working with external agencies (creative agencies, fundraising consultants, copywriters, mailing houses and printers)
  • Experience of working effectively in a changing, fast paced and innovative environment.
