Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking a due diligence professional to produce high-quality reports on third-party relationships and help ensure compliance with the university's policies. You will support the Regulatory Compliance Manager and a network of Due Diligence Coordinators across Imperial.

You will also help identify gaps in training and knowledge, ensuring staff can use the Due Diligence Portal effectively and deliver reports to the highest standards for sound decision-making.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering effective high quality due diligence or equivalent reports at pace.
  • Experience of working effectively within a team.
  • Experience of managing data systems and producing reports.
  • An understanding of the theory and practice of due diligence.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality due diligence reports on Imperial’s third-party relationships to ensure compliance with the Relationships Policy.
  • Support the Regulatory Compliance Manager and the network of Due Diligence Coordinators with guidance and oversight.
  • Assist in identifying gaps in due diligence training and knowledge and improve staff capabilities.
  • Assist in advising on the appropriate Decision-Making Body (DMB) for specific relationships per the Relationships Policy.
  • Collaborate with the Risk & Assurance Team to support audits of DMB Levels 1 and 2.

Job description

This new role sits within the central Due Diligence function in the Division of the University Secretary. It has been created to support Imperial’s exciting partnership ambitions and to strengthen early-stage assessment of legal, financial and reputational risks associated with third-party relationships.

What you would be doing

You will hold responsibility for the production of high-quality due diligence reports on Imperial’s third-party relationships to ensure compliance with Imperial’s Relationships Policy. You will support the Regulatory Compliance Manager in providing advice and oversight to the network of Due Diligence Coordinators across Imperial. You will also assist in identifying and remedying gaps in due diligence training and knowledge, ensuring that staff are equipped with the skills required to use Imperial’s Due Diligence Portal effectively and to produce due diligence reports of the highest standard to support sound decision-making.

You will support the provision of relevant training to strengthen staff understanding of relationships management principles and the risks of undue influence or other behaviours that could compromise research integrity, data security, or institutional independence.

You will assist the Regulatory Compliance Manager in advising on the appropriate Decision-Making Body (DMB) for specific relationships, in line with the requirements of the Relationships Policy. To help ensure consistent application of the Policy across the University, you will also work periodically with the Risk & Assurance Team to support proportionate audits of decisions made at DMB Levels 1 and 2.

  • An understanding of governance processes and procedures in a complex organisation
  • Well-developed organisation and coordination skills with a strong, independently driven delivery focus
  • Ability to coordinate a range of different activities at the same time and understand the connections between them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders across varying seniorities and backgrounds
  • Ability to use initiative and apply a solution-orientated approach to work
  • Able and willing to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities under pressure
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and disseminate information and data from complex documents
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detailAbility to use discretion and judgment when dealing with confidential and sensitive data
  • Willing to undertake training as appropriate
