We are seeking a Communications Managerto join Imperial’s Transformation Portfolio Team, supporting the Great Environment Transformation Portfolio.This strategic portfolio brings together activity across South Kensington and White City campuses, enabling Imperial to grow its academic endeavour through world-leading campus infrastructure.As a Communications Manager, you will play a key role in delivering communications across the portfolio. Working closely with programme and project teams, academic and professional services colleagues, you will develop and deliver communication plans for major transformation projects.You will act as a trusted communications adviser to programme leaders and project teams, helping to shape messaging. From communications planning to presentations, events and digital content, you will use a range of channels and approaches to build understanding and support successful project delivery.We are looking for someone with strong communications experience gained within a complex organisation, excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to make complicated subjects accessible and engaging.You will be confident building relationships with people at all levels, advising and influencing colleagues, managing competing priorities and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. Excellent organisational skills, sound judgement and a creative approach to communications is essential, alongside experience of supporting transformation or organisational change. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major strategic portfolio and help shape the future environment of a world-leading university.
The post holder will be part of the Communications team, which sits within the Transformation Team at Imperial. The Communications Manager is accountable for the development and delivery of communications strategies to increase engagement and raise awareness of the Transformation portfolio. You will also lead on the delivery of communications workstreams to foster widespread understanding of the visions and aims of major strategic programmes and projects, including stakeholder engagement plans, user stories, and internal communications campaigns. In addition, the Communications Manager will be responsible for providing dedicated communications support to the Transformation team – including the review and development of its communications strategy – as the function navigates an exciting period of growth and development.
