Location:We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf.

What exactly will you be doing?

As a Registration & Assurance Manager, you will be at the forefront of maintaining AAT’s assurance, registration and AML supervision framework. This leadership role involves overseeing the delivery of professional standards, ethics and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations across AAT’s membership. You will lead a dynamic team to ensure compliance, develop policies and provide expert guidance. Through engagement with internal and external stakeholders, you will help shape AAT’s approach to regulatory excellence while driving improvements in operations and member support.

Major objectives

  • Lead the Registration and Assurance team to deliver outstanding compliance and assurance activities.
  • Ensure AAT’s registration, assurance and AML supervision framework remains robust and fit for purpose.
  • Provide expert advice and analysis to inform policy development, member support and organisational strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk assessment frameworks and supervisory methodologies.
  • Manage AAT’s third-party relationship in the delivery of the practice assurance review contract and ensure any complex review queries and compliance interventions reported to AAT are resolved
  • Collaborate with external auditors, regulators and professional bodies to align with best practices.
  • Support on complex AML, whistleblowing and ethical queries received to ensure member compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and team performance.

  • Strong expertise in compliance, assurance and audit within regulated environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anti-money laundering legislation, professional ethics and professional standards in the accountancy sector.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing, mentoring and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in communicating complex information and influencing stakeholders effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and quality assurance outcomes.
  • Relevant qualifications in audit, assurance, or AML compliance.
  • A proactive, values-driven approach with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
