Role Overview

As a Construction Assurance Manager, you will support the Senior Construction Assurance Manager in providing constructability assistance to the HS2 NEC3 Project Manager. Your responsibilities will include risk-based assurance of the Works' constructability, maintaining health and safety standards, and supporting project delivery outcomes such as quality, environmental impact, and compliance with Undertakings and Assurance obligations. You will work closely with various project teams and managers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the SENIOR CAM in Constructability Assurance using a risk-based approach.
  2. Provide specialist advice to HS2 Project Managers throughout the construction process.
  3. Participate in safety tours and promote HS2 safety practices.
  4. Assist NEC3 Supervisors and Project Managers in their contractual duties as directed by the SENIOR CAM.
  5. Ensure adherence to U&A’s, Environmental Minimum Requirements, and the Code of Construction Practice.
  6. Manage cross-contract interfaces related to constructability.
  7. Promote and support Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving skills to develop and evaluate options considering stakeholder demands, cost, time, and quality.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making based on data and facts.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of NEC3 Contracts, UK construction regulations (including CDM and Safety Management), and site-based health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Understanding of risk management, construction planning, and project monitoring.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience with large-scale engineering projects, including civils, buildings, and urban works.
  • Degree in civil engineering, construction, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven contract management experience, preferably with NEC contracts.
