Job summary

inspiring vet care in Thornhill and Dumfries is seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our two-site small animal practice on a full-time fixed-term basis. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice, managing nursing care across first opinion cases and contributing to clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS is required.
• Experience working in a clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Nithsdale Vets on a full-time fixed-term basis.

We are a two-site small animal practice based in Thornhill and Dumfries, both equipped to a high standard to support excellent clinical care. With a wide and varied caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases.

Our practices benefit from modern facilities and equipment, enabling us to provide a high standard of patient care while supporting the ongoing development of our clinical teams.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• Full-Time working 40 hours per week
• Working on a rota basis Monday to Friday with shifts between 8am-7pm
• 1 weeknight on call and 1 in every 4 weekend on calls
• Saturday on-call duties from 9:00am to 2:00pm

General Responsibilities Include:
