Job summary

inspiring vet care in Kendal is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Highgate Vets on a full-time 12-month contract basis. You’ll be part of a friendly, small animal practice with a supportive team and opportunities to develop clinical interests.

You’ll deliver high-quality nursing care, work with veterinary surgeons, and contribute to patient care across a range of first opinion cases. The role includes clinics, theatre work, and routine diagnostics, with no out-of-hours

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Highgate Vets on a full-time 12 month contract basis.

Highgate Vets is a friendly, close-knit small animal practice in Kendal, on the edge of the stunning Lake District. We have two clinics, with our team rotating between both locations and a strong focus on learning, development and supporting each other.

We’re well equipped with in-house Idexx labs, multiparameter monitors, ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, drip pumps and more. We’re also Practice Standards and Cat Friendly accredited, a Nurse Training Practice, and a host venue for Pet Blood Bank.

With a team of seven Vets and seven Veterinary Nurses, we welcome RVNs who enjoy all aspects of general practice while also supporting those keen to develop their own clinical interests.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 40 hours per week
• Worked over 4 days per week
• 1 in 6 Saturday morning rota
• No OOH requirement
