Job description

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Rhyd Broughton Clinic on a full‑time basis.

Rhyd Broughton Clinic is a busy first‑opinion small animal practice serving the Wrexham and Chester area. The team includes 13 Veterinary Surgeons, a 15‑strong nursing team made up of RVNs, SVNs and ACAs, alongside 15 additional support colleagues, creating a supportive and collaborative environment.

We are a two‑site practice across Wrexham and Chester, with a strong focus on patient care, team development and clinical standards. As an RVN training practice, inspiring vet care Centre of Excellence, Positive Pawprint practice, PSS Tier 2 General Practice and ISFM Silver Cat Friendly practice, this is a great opportunity to join a team committed to high‑quality care and continuous improvement.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

This is a varied role where you will be involved in inpatient care, theatre, dental and diagnostic support, anaesthetic monitoring, nurse consultations and laboratory work. As a registered RVN training practice, you will also have the opportunity to support and mentor student nurses as part of their development.

This full‑time role operates 35 hours across four days, Monday to Friday. You will also take part in a 1 in 5 weekend rota, with Saturday shifts typically 8:30 am to about 1:30 pm and Sunday shifts typically 8:30 am to about 11:00 am. Finish times may vary, and time off in lieu is provided for weekend work.

General Responsibilities Include
  • Deliver high standards of nursing care to hospitalised patients
  • Support theatre, dental and diagnostic procedures alongside the veterinary team
  • Monitor anaesthesia and support patient recovery
  • Run nurse consultations and contribute to preventative healthcare
