Job description

Job Title:

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location:

Garston Veterinary Group

Hours:

38 hours per week, including participation in weekend and OOH rotas

Salary:

Up to £33,000 per annum, dependent on experience

We are expanding our services and facilities, which means we need more nurses. We are also setting up and training staff to use our new CT machine. We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team.

Our practice operates across five sites: Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge, Westbury, and Melksham. The Frome site functions as a small animal hospital with 24/7 out-of-hours service and hospital care.

The role:

Along with standard RVN responsibilities, you can get involved in various groups and roles, including:

  • Sustainability
  • Wellbeing and mental health
  • Social calendar group
  • Delivering CPD to our teams
  • Patient Safety Team (Halo)

If you have a clinical interest, you can become a champion in that area, helping to develop it within Garston and Linnaeus. Current clinical champions include Infection Control, Sustainability, and Dentistry.

Being part of Linnaeus offers opportunities to engage with clinical boards and participate in external events like Goodwoof, with access to extensive clinical support.

Our goal is to support staff in providing excellent clinical care, encouraging suggestions for improvement, and minimizing our environmental impact through sustainability initiatives.

As a nurse, you will have access to numerous CPD opportunities, including our in-house programs, supported by a generous CPD budget. We currently perform Schedule 3 procedures across all sites, and support is available for your development in this area.

Our practice is friendly and sociable, with trips and outings planned throughout the year. Feel free to contact us for more information about the practice, out-of-hours work, or the nursing role.

The veterinary nurse role is vital for maintaining high standards of client and patient care. You will work collaboratively with the Nursing leadership and clinical teams to deliver quality care and an exceptional client experience through teamwork, communication, and your skills.

We value a growth mindset and self-development to support yourself and your colleagues.

What we offer:
  • 5 weeks holiday, plus bank holidays and birthday leave
  • Life Assurance (4x salary)
  • Pension Scheme (3% employer, 5% employee contributions via salary sacrifice)
  • Enhanced family leave and sickness policies
  • Salary sacrifice schemes for e-cars and cycling (Cycle to Work)
  • Pet Insurance discount
  • Paid RCVS & VDS fees
  • CPD allowance and dedicated CPD days
  • Access to extensive training and development programs
  • Benefits platform and discounts, including gym membership
  • Employee Assistance and Wellbeing programs
  • Annual Flu Voucher

We are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of our team, with Mental Health First Aiders and confidential Employee Assistance Programs available.
