Job summary

Stanley House Veterinary Group in Colne, Burnley and Barnoldswick is seeking a compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive, forward‑thinking team. You’ll deliver outstanding patient care across our multi‑site practice, support student nurses and junior colleagues, and maintain high clinical standards while prioritising wellbeing.

With over 100 years of caring for pets and their owners, Stanley House Vets is proud to be a trusted part of the local community. We are a modern, multi-site small animal practice across Colne, Burnley and Barnoldswick, equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities and dedicated surgical theatres.

We're particularly proud to have recently achieved RCVS Veterinary Hospital Status, the highest level of accreditation under the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, recognising our commitment to exceptional patient care, clinical excellence and practice standards.

As well as providing our own 24/7 out-of-hours service, we actively support local charities, community initiatives and fundraising events.

As a valued member of our nursing team, you'll play an active role in delivering outstanding patient care, including:

  • Nurse consultations
  • Patient admissions and discharges
  • Anaesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing
  • Inpatient care and recovery
  • Laboratory work and clinical administration
  • Supporting student nurses and junior team members

We encourage our nurses to utilise their skills fully, develop their interests and contribute to the continued growth of our clinical services.

  • A qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)
  • Compassionate, proactive and patient-focused
  • A supportive team player with excellent communication skills
  • Committed to maintaining high clinical standards

  • Working across our Colne, Burnley and Barnoldswick sites
  • Shared weekend rota with time off in lieu
  • 1 in 6 weekends, alternating between Saturday daytime shifts and a full weekend daytime shift
