Job summary

Stanley House Vets in Colne is seeking an Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our well-established practice in East Lancashire. You’ll work across our Colne/Burnley/Barnoldswick sites with a passionate, supportive team and a focus on high-quality care.

We're a well-established, RCVS-accredited practice and are excited to have recently achieved RCVS Veterinary Hospital Status, recognising our commitment to exceptional patient care, clinical excellence and practice standards.

Our Practice Includes:

  • A purpose-built Veterinary Hospital in Colne
  • A consulting and operating branch in Burnley
  • A consulting branch in Barnoldswick
  • Our own 24/7 out-of-hours service, providing continuity of care for our patients
  • Modern facilities including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, endoscopy, dedicated surgical theatres and separate canine and feline wards

We're passionate about supporting both our people and our local community through charity fundraising, educational initiatives and local partnerships.

  • Full-time position – 40 hours per week (Flexible working options available)
  • Some branch work may include sole-charge consulting
  • Participation in OOH rota (weekends only)-1 in 8 Fri & Sun on call (Mon and Tue off in lieu)
  • 1in 8 Saturdays - a Friday off in lieu
  • Working alongside an experienced and supportive clinical team, with certificate holders in medicine, dentistry and emergency and critical care, supported by a highly skilled nursing team

We provide our own OOH service, with experienced vets and a dedicated night nurse team, ensuring continuity of care

  • An experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for small animal practice
  • Confident in routine consultations and surgery, with VetGDP completed
  • Keen to work with a diverse and interesting caseload
  • Interested in developing and strengthening in-house services — particularly surgery or orthopaedics
  • Motivated to continue learning and growing within a supportive, well-resourced team
