Job summary

IVC Evidensia Group is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the South Wales Vets team in Blackwood. The role is full-time and based at our Abertillery practice, offering a supportive environment and opportunities to deliver high-quality first opinion care.

You will work with vets and the broader team, delivering nurse-led consultations and perioperative care while supporting client education and patient comfort. A strong team ethos is essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS (RCVS registration).
• At least one year of post-qualification experience is preferred.
• Experience in clinical practice with confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at South Wales Vets on a full-time, permanent basis.

South Wales Vets is a three-branch small animal practice with sites in Abertillery, Blackwood and Newport. This role is based at our Abertillery practice, where you’ll be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality first opinion care to our patients and clients.

Our practice is within a short drive of the Brecon Beacons, offering plenty of opportunities for walking, exploring and enjoying the countryside, while Cardiff is around 30 minutes away.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 40 hours per week
• 4 days per week, working 8:30am–7:00pm
• 1 in 4 Saturdays, working 9:00am–2:00pm
• No out-of-hours requirement

General Responsibilities
