About the Job

The Registered Nurse, Oncology, will:

• Set priorities, provide clinical expertise, and lead the care plan, including planning and implementing healthcare treatments and interventions. Delegate tasks appropriately to team members.
• Ensure the client and family actively participate in developing and modifying the care plan, including setting long- and short-term goals.
• Establish therapeutic relationships using effective interpersonal and interviewing techniques, respecting client autonomy.
• Discuss referral information with clients, families, and healthcare team members, and initiate referrals to appropriate agencies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team through rounds and care conferences to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.

This is a permanent full-time position. Shifts will include days and nights on a rotating schedule from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

Located in Cranbrook, between Kimberley and Fernie, East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) is a 75-bed regional referral center serving smaller community hospitals in the area. EKRH offers various physician specialties, 24-hour emergency and trauma services, acute medical and surgical care, obstetrics, and laboratory services.
