About the Job

The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides:

  • Nursing care to psychiatric patients, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Enhances quality of life for patients and families; collaborates with other healthcare providers
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence-based practice
  • Maintains and advances own clinical competence
  • Participates in hospital committees, research projects, and teams as assigned

We are looking for a self-directed, motivated, reliable, and flexible mental health-trained nurse (RN/RPN) who enjoys working in a team environment and has a strong desire to learn. Experience in Mental Health or Substance Use is preferred.

This is a Permanent Part-Time (0.70) opportunity.

Shifts will be scheduled days and nights on a rotating basis from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this Location

The East Kootenay Regional Hospital Psychiatric department is a 12-bed inpatient unit with 2 seclusion rooms. The team includes a team leader, 3 RNs working 12-hour shifts 24/7, a unit clerk, and 2 psychiatrists. Cranbrook is situated on sloping plains facing the Purcell Mountains and the Rockies, with mild winters and abundant sunshine, making it an ideal place to work, play, and raise a family.
