Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Oncology & Haematology Outpatients Department. This role is based in our Duchess of Devonshire Wing in Central London (W1G 6JA). We are also offering a competitive salary of £37,000 - £43,000 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest independently owned non-profit hospital, and we have been providing exceptional care since 1932. We have 8 premises, where we perform highly complex procedures as well as routine surgery & medicine.

Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients.

Job Profile

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse within our Oncology and Haematology Outpatients Department at The London Clinic's prestigious Duchess of Devonshire Wing, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and expert care to patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT). Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and administration of chemotherapy treatments in a busy outpatient setting.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) over four long days (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 6:00pm) - with no weekend or night shifts, offering excellent work-life balance for skilled and motivated oncology nurses.

This role is ideally suited to candidates with proven chemotherapy experience and valid SACT and UKONS Passports, looking to develop their career in a centre of excellence for cancer care.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £37,000 to £43,000 per annum

Location: The London Clinic - Duchess of Devonshire Wing. 22 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6JA

Key Duties:

  • Administer SACT treatments - to ensure patients receive safe, timely, and evidence-based therapy.
  • Coordinate outpatient care and monitor treatment response - to optimise clinical outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
  • Liaise with consultants, pharmacists, and clinical nurse specialists - to ensure consistent, integrated patient care.
  • Mentor and support junior staff and students - to help develop their competence and uphold high clinical standards.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritise workload - to ensure continuity of care and efficient service delivery.
  • Engage in clinical audits and service improvement projects - to contribute to quality assurance and innovation in care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records - to support patient safety and professional accountability.
  • Advocate for patients and provide emotional support - to meet the holistic needs of individuals living with cancer.
  • Comply with NMC Code and The London Clinic protocols - to uphold standards of professional practice and patient safety.

What We're Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration
  • Demonstrable experience in oncology and chemotherapy administration
  • Valid SACT Passport and UKONS Passport - required
  • Confident working in an outpatient or day case environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Passion for delivering compassionate and patient-focused care
