Job description

Newcastle Private Hospital is currently seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Registered Nurses to join our close-knit, friendly, and hardworking Coronary Care Unit team on a full-time basis for 2025 starts.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a progressive and dynamic team of Cardiologists, with close collaboration and cross-skilling opportunities within the Angiography Suite.

You should be available to work within a flexible environment and be committed to providing a high standard of customer care in a fast-paced setting.

As a Registered Nurse - Coronary Care, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care
  • Collaborating with the Cath Lab team on coronary angiograms, pacemakers, vascular procedures, and more
  • Leading quality improvement and safety management projects to achieve desired outcomes
  • Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
  • Acting as a role model for safe practice
  • Having a minimum of 4 years’ clinical experience in an acute Coronary Care unit
  • Possessing a valid NSW Working with Children check
  • Holding a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Maintaining current registration with AHPRA without restrictions
  • Complying with ACQSHC National standards
  • Demonstrating clinical expertise and a commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement
  • Being self-motivated with the proven ability to work as part of a high-performing team
  • Exhibiting highly developed interpersonal skills, being proactive, motivated, and customer-focused

If successful, your salary will be based on your relevant nursing experience, aligned with the current nursing Enterprise Agreement: the Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses’ and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024. Salaries range from $35.46 to $49.79 per hour.

Additional Information: We prioritize quality and safety for our patients, staff, and visitors. Applicants must provide a current National Police check, WWCC (if applicable), and proof of right to work in Australia before appointment. Staff in patient contact roles must also provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
