Job summary

Orchard Care Homes is seeking a Registered Nurse at Lansbury Court Care Home, Sunderland. You will deliver person-centred dementia care, develop tailored care plans, and support a multidisciplinary team while upholding NMC standards.

You’ll lead care delivery, coach staff, and engage families to ensure compassionate, high-quality care within a warm, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience in dementia care and person-centred planning.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and clinical governance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing person-centred care plans and risk assessments
• Leading the care team in delivering meaningful, empathetic support
• Promoting independence, choice, and positive engagement
• Liaising with families, external professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
• Reducing reliance on psychotropic medication through non-pharmacological interventions
• Supporting best interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act
• Conducting supervisions, appraisals, and coaching care staff
• Ensuring compliance with NMC standards and Orchard policies

Location: Lansbury Court Care Home - Parkhouse Avenue, Castletown, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, SR5 3DF

Salary: £25.57 per hour

Schedule/Hours: Full & Part-time available - Nights, 22 - 44 hrs per week

What You’ll Be Doing
