About You

You will need to have current NMC registration and a good knowledge of the most up-to-date clinical practices to join us as a Registered Nurse (RGN). Experience of producing well-developed care plans and detailed risk assessments is important too, as is an understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines. Dedicated and compassionate, youll pride yourself on your person-centred, thoughtful approach to nursing.

About The Role

Job Overview

Nursing in a care home is challenging but very much a rewarding role. You will be ultimately taking responsibility of the care and wellbeing of our residents which includes making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met but also leading, motivating and mentoring your team of carers whilst delivering clinical guidance and coaching. Providing clinical leadership will ensure smooth, safe and efficient running of the care home. Being able to promote all our residents independence, dignity and choice is an extremely important to us and this will come naturally to you. Maintaining accurate records is very important and you will have an eye for detail to enable if any problems arise you are well equipped and ready to deal with this. You will have a strong professional judgement and will be able to make critical clinical decisions and will provide medicine safely and delivering excellence across everything you do. As a Registered Nurse (RGN), youll have the autonomy to do things the right way and be truly valued and respected for what you do.

As nurse in charge of the shift, you will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and leading your team by ensuring that the best standards of care are delivered to our residents.

Additional responsibilities include ordering and booking in medication, an excellent knowledge base of care planning and associated electronic systems is also required in order to manage care planning and required reviewing process. Up to date clinical skill considering syringe driver, catheters, pegs, venipuncture.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

  • Ensure Service Users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
  • Undertake the Care Planning activities for Service Users to meet changing physical, psychological and social needs, taking into consideration privacy, dignity, personal choice, and informed consent.
  • Ensure Care Plans are developed in collaboration with Service Users, their family, and friends (where appropriate) and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
  • Work within the NMC Code of Conduct
  • Act as a mentor to others and help to build strong team relationships.
  • Update and monitor care plans, reviewing them as and when required
  • Demonstrate strong clinical skills
  • Ensuring that all documentation is compliant with NMC guidelines and legislation.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals
  • To provide nursing care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.
