Registered Nurse

Hours: (Days, Nights or Bank contracts available) – Paid Breaks

Location: Great Oaks Care Home, Bournemouth, BH11 9DP

If you’re an experienced, compassionate nurse (RGN/RMN) looking to improve the lives of people with long-term care needs, we can offer you a rewarding career at Great Oaks.

We’re seeking a qualified registered nurse to lead and support our care team at the care home.

You’ll receive comprehensive training to help you adjust to nursing in a care home setting and ongoing development to help you progress your career.

Who We’re Looking For
  • Valid RGN NMC Registration.
  • Previous experience within a similar setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • A clear understanding of CQC standards/legislation.
  • Strong leadership qualities, highly clinically skilled, well-organized, and able to take the lead.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with PCS and electronic care planning.
  • Able to inspire, motivate, and lead by example.
  • Flexible approach to the rota to meet the needs of the home.

How You’ll Make a Difference

By providing high-quality nursing care, you’ll help improve and sustain our residents’ quality of life. Leading and supporting a care team, you will:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to residents.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, ensuring appropriate care planning, implementation, and evaluation, involving residents and their families.
  • Promote the rights, interests, needs, and choices of carers and people with dementia in care planning and delivery.
  • Liaise with GPs, case managers, primary healthcare practitioners, statutory and voluntary agencies to support residents.
  • Communicate clinical decisions, policies, and care pathways effectively to residents, carers, and the multi-professional team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and provide feedback to carers, residents, and referring agencies.
  • Utilize IT systems to ensure accurate and timely data management.
  • Apply current knowledge of dementia and caring, informed by research and evidence-based practices.
