Job summary

Evolve Staffing Ltd is seeking a highly dedicated Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join a prestigious healthcare facility in Bishop's Castle. The role focuses on person-centred, high-quality care within Shropshire and West Midlands through flexible locum shifts or permanent opportunities.

You will follow NMC guidelines, deliver evidence-based nursing, mentor junior staff, maintain accurate EHRs, and work with the MDT to ensure patient safety and exceptional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Adult Nurse with an active NMC registration.
• Post-registration clinical experience in acute hospital, elderly care, palliative, or community settings is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional clinical assessment and decision‑making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Legally eligible to work in the UK; Enhanced DBS background check required prior to start.
• Flawless verbal and written communication with patients and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver industry-leading, evidence-based nursing care and holistic patient support in line with NMC codes.
• Administer medications, advanced wound care, monitor vital signs and conduct routine observations.
• Develop and review individualized care plans with the MDT and review regularly.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records to meet CQC guidelines and governance protocols.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to junior staff and HCAs to maintain a safe ward environment.

Comprehensive Clinical Responsibilities:

• Outstanding Patient Care: Delivering industry-leading, evidence-based nursing care and holistic support to patients, strictly adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct and professional standards.
• Clinical Interventions: Safely administering medications, executing complex wound care management, monitoring vital signs, and undertaking routine clinical observations.
• Care Planning: Developing, implementing, and regularly evaluating individualized patient care plans in close collaboration with a wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including doctors, social workers, and allied health professionals.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining meticulous and accurate electronic health records (EHR) to ensure absolute compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines and internal clinical governance protocols.
• Leadership & Mentoring: Providing clinical supervision, guidance, and delegation of duties to junior nursing staff, student nurses, and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to maintain a secure and highly effective clinical ward or care environment.

Essential Requirements & Nursing Qualifications:

• Valid NMC Pin: You must be a fully qualified Adult Nurse (RGN) holding a current, active, and unrestricted registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Demonstrable Experience: Proven post-registration clinical experience within acute hospital settings, elderly care homes, palliative care, or community nursing environments is highly advantageous.
• Clinical Skillset: Exceptional clinical assessment capabilities, sharp decision‑making skills, and the resilience to work effectively within a fast‑paced, high‑pressure healthcare setting.
• Compliance & Vetting: You must possess the legal Right to Work in the UK. A recent Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) background check will be required prior to commencement.
• Communication: Flawless verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with patients, their relatives, and the wider healthcare team.
